I was recently given some samples to try by Arya Essentials. I received two vials each of their body oil and face oil. If you follow me, you know that I’m a sucker for all things oil-based. Whether it’s a cleanser, as a moisturizer, used in my hair or on my body, I’m a fan! I was very excited for the chance to review their products. Today I will be reviewing their Face Oil.
Arya Essentials Face Oil retails on their website for $92.00. While this is a steep price tag, in the weeks I’ve had it, I feel like it’s definitely worth it! The face oil is a blend of the following:
Argania Spinosa (Argan) Oil
Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil
Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil
Centella Asiatica (Brahmi) Oil
Rosa Rubiginosa (Rose Hip Seed) Oil
Santalum Album (Sandalwood) Oil
Phyllanthus Emblica (Amla) Extract
Tocopherol (Vitamin E)
Ocimum Sanctum (Tulsi) Oil
Azadirachta Indica (Neem) Oil
Cananga Odorata (Ylang Ylang) Oil
Pelargonium Graveolens (Geranium) Oil
Argan Oil is the first ingredient on the list. I began using argan oil in December of last year, and I really enjoyed the benefits of it. I’ve since moved on to various other oils, but argan is definitely a staple. It is moisturizing, helps to fight acne and flaking skin, can be used in your hair and is even used on burns!
Next up is Jojoba Seed Oil. Jojoba oil is prized for its anti-inflammatory properties, as well as being used in wound healing and for fighting acne. We’re already off to a great start!
Sweet Almond Oil helps to moisturize deeply, improve your complexion for a healthy glow, relieves dry skin and can be used on chapped lips as well.
Brahmi Oil helps to reduce tension, and is used often in scalp massage to aid in sleep. Using this at night can help to soothe your mind and relax you.
A celebrity favorite, Rosehip Seed Oil is used by many people to moisturize and rejuvenate their complexion. It has been used for generations, is non-greasy, and boasts a number of benefits to the skin. It contains vitamin C and lycopene, which help to repair the skin’s surface and restore elasticity.
Tulsi Oil, also known as Holy Basil, has powerful purifying properties, leaving the skin with a beautiful glow. It is anti-bacterial and anti-fungal, helping to prevent future breakouts and diminish current ones.
Derived from the fruits and seeds of an evergreen tree, Neem Oil has been used in Ayurveda for centuries. Neem oil is anti-viral, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and it helps to relieve pain. It reduces signs of aging and rejuvenates skin cells. When you use it regularly, it can smooth wrinkles and lessen fine lines.
Sandalwood Oil is used in Ayurveda, the traditional medicine of India, which the founder of the company grew up learning, to help soothe irritated skin. It fights inflammation and infection and can help to soothe burns.
Amla Extract helps improve blood flow and circulation, and has anti-inflammatory properties. Amla extract contains high levels of vitamin C, proteins and amino acids. It’s just packed with good stuff!
One of my favorite beauty ingredients, Vitamin E, is another part of this awesome cocktail. When you apply vitamin E to your skin, it neutralizes free radicals in the skin, helping to prevent signs of aging and reducing the risk of skin cancer. It helps improve hydration and can even speed cellular regeneration, healing scars and acne.
Another great ingredient for relaxation is Ylang Ylang Oil. It relieves stress and anxiety and is very calming. It also has antiseptic properties, helping to heal wounds and irritated skin.
Geranium Oil is well known for its ability to help with acne, eczema, dermatitis and other inflammations and rashes on the skin. It has powerful astringent properties to help tone your skin.
That’s quite a big list of great benefits! The scent of the oil is very earthy, and very fragrant. It does fade away after a while, but if you’re sensitive to strong scents, you may want to dilute this slightly or avoid it entirely. I normally stay away from face products with any fragrance, but as this is all natural and not perfumed, I feel like it gets a bit of a pass.
I used four drops of the face oil on my face and neck twice a day for two weeks now. I feel that my skin has brightened up quite a bit, and is looking firmer and healthier. I was having some issues with the weather getting so hot, I was beginning to break out. However, I feel this has made a big difference in the appearance of my skin. I’ve been out in the sun more, and I find that this is very moisturizing, and if I sweat, it doesn’t make my skin feel greasy. It is quick to absorb and keeps you hydrated without being an oil slick.
I would recommend this to anyone, whether you are older or younger, are acne prone or not. I have combination skin, and it was fluctuating wildly in the last few months to become more and more oily. Since beginning this oil, I feel much more balanced. I can finally manage my face again!
Packaging: 10/10 – I can’t really go low on this since I received sample vials. However, they came in a small, white box with the logo of the company stamped on the lid. It had some wispy packing material and the vials were stored safely packed inside. Each vial was lightweight, clear glass with a dropper.
Appearance: 10/10 – A lovely, pale gold color that doesn’t look thick and viscous in the bottle. I can see the full sized bottles of this being placed out for display on a vanity. The sample sizes looked just like a miniature version of the full size. They have beautiful paper labels with the logo, size and other information printed on them. The glass droppers had white rubber tips and were easy to use, and looked quite lovely against the white label and gold lid.
Scent: 7/10 – Since the fragrance is all natural, I can’t dock too many points. But I do have a sensitivity to smells, and I feel like this lingers a bit. Probably about an hour or two after I put it on, I feel it beginning to fade. This can interfere with my other scents or moisturizers sometimes, and be overwhelming. However, it is a lovely, deep, earthy scent that I quite like.
Application: 7/10 – This is a lightweight, non-greasy formula that glides easily over your skin. I do find it to be a bit too heavy to use during the day when paired with a secondary moisturizer. I much prefer to use it at night to seal in my night cream, and during the day, I wear the oil alone. However, that makes me miss out on other benefits from my daily moisturizer, such as SPF. I also usually want to wait a little while before applying my makeup, because primer seems to glide off of this.
Performance: 9/10 – I have honestly only found one other oil that I enjoy quite as much as I’ve enjoyed this, and they both contain many of the same ingredients. This is light, smells lovely, has definitely improved the appearance of my skin and is great even in the summer. I can see it being used a lot during the winter months, to help relieve dry, chapped skin. It has a lot of healing benefits and I’ve noticed blemishes healing faster than they normally would, as well as irritation and sensitivity going down a lot!
A very high rated product, indeed! I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to try something more natural with a lot of health benefits. I like this most at night, after using my night cream, or during the day without another moisturizer. I find it to be very luxurious. It has brightened my complexion and has kept me hydrated. The vials I received were small samples, but since it only takes a few drops, they’re still nearly full after two weeks of using them twice a day. Similar oils can cost the same or even higher, depending on the brand. I feel that Arya Essentials Face Oil has so many benefits, it’s definitely at least worth a shot.
Disclaimer: I received face and body oil samples from Arya Essentials free of charge in exchange for an honest review. This has not changed my opinions on the products received. For any other questions, please contact me at Brenna.Bombshell@Gmail.com.
